Rare and local on a 30- to 40-foot, north-facing cliff at the western tip of Finn Lake. On lower ledges of the blocky, little-fractured, sparsely-vegetated gabbro (or troctolite?) bedrock. Rooted in thick mats of Hylacomnium splendens. In partially shaded dry-mesic settings beneath Picea mariana, Betula papyrifera, B. cordifolia, Alnus viridis, and Sorbus decora.
