Habitat: Occasional to frequent in a small (~5-acre) poor black spruce swamp on the northwest side of Iota Lake. Patchy to fairly dense canopy of mature Picea mariana, with occasional Larix laricina. Tall but sparse understory of Alnus incana. Forming loose to rather dense patches, both on drier hummocks and in moister hollows; often in Sphagnum carpets.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Carex trisperma, Monotropa uniflora, Gaultheria hispidula, Vaccinium vitis-idaea, Ledum groenlandicum.
