Habitat: Local in poor black spruce swamp surrounding a small (~1/4-acre) bog pond southeast of Skinny Lake. Loose patch of several dozen plants. Full sun to partial shade of stunted Picea mariana (which is infested with Arceuthobium pusillum). Deep saturated peat. Continuous carpets of Sphagnum mosses.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Kalmia polifolia, Gaultheria hispidula, Ledum groenlandicum, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Carex pauciflora, Sarracenia purpurea, Smilacina trifolia.
