Habitat:
Deep, saturated peat (abnormally dry due to extended drought). Full sun. On the south end of a small (~1-acre) bog pond. Occasional in shore fen on the edge of the pond.
Associated Species:
Associates include Rhynchospora alba, R. fusca, Lycopodiella inundata, Utricularia cornuta, Pogonia ophioglossoides, Drosera intermedia, Scheuchzeria palustris, Menyanthes trifoliata, Andromeda glaucophylla, Myrica gale. Also a bit farther away from the pond with Carex lasiocarpa, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Sarracenia purpurea.
