Habitat: Frequent in a series of vernal wetlands in small (~1/4-acre) basins east of Gore Lake. Full sun to partially shaded by the surrounding forest (Betula papyrifera, Abies balsamea, Picea mariana, Pinus strobus, Thuja occidentalis). Moist to rather dry shallow organic substrate (dry due to an extended drought). Loose clumps and small loose patches.
Associated Species: Associates include Torreyochloa pallida, Carex vesicaria, C. arcta, Sium suave, Epilobium ciliatum, Galium trifidum, Mentha arvensis, Sparganium minimum, Cardamine pensylvanica, Veronica scutellata, Hippuris vulgaris.
