Habitat: Occasional to common in one of a series of vernal wetlands in small (~1/4-acre) basins east of Gore Lake. Full sun to partially shaded by the surrounding forest (Betula papyrifera, Abies balsamea, Picea mariana, Pinus strobus, Thuja occidentalis). Rather dense robust clumps, often in fairly dense patches in the outer zone of the basins. Moist to rather dry organic substrate (due to a lingering drought).
Associated Species: Associates include Carex arcta, Glyceria borealis, Torreyochloa pallida, Mentha arvensis, Epilobium ciliatum, Hippuris vulgaris, Cardamine pensylvanica.
