Habitat: Uncommon and local in one of a series of vernal wetlands in small (~1/4-acre) basins east of Gore Lake. Full sun to partially shaded by the surrounding forest (Betula papyrifera, Abies balsamea, Picea mariana, Pinus strobus, Thuja occidentalis). A dozen or so clumps in moist to fairly dry organic substrate (dry due to lingering drought).
Associated Species: Associates include Carex vesicaria, Glyceria borealis, Torreyochloa pallida, Galium trifidum, Epilobium ciliatum, Cardamine pensylvanica, Mentha arvensis, Sium suave, Sparganium minimum, Hippuris vulgaris.
