Habitat: Occasional to common in poor conifer swamp surrounding a small (~4-acre) bog pond north of Allen Lake. Occurring mostly on middle and lower branches of somewhat stunted Picea mariana. Patchy canopy; full sun to partial shade. Substrate is saturated peat. Continuous Sphagnum carpets.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Larix laricina, Ledum groenlandicum, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Kalmia polifolia, Vaccinium oxycoccus, Sarracenia purpurea, Smilacina trifolia, Carex paupercula, C. disperma, C. pauciflora.
