Common in alder swamp along a small drainage north of Allen Lake. Shaded below fairly dense Alnus incana, and scattered Thuja occidentalis, Abies balsamea, Picea mariana, and Betula cordifolia. On Sphagnum hummocks. Forming patches.
Associates include Viola incognita, Epilobium palustre, Dryopteris carthusiana, Rubus pubescens, R. strigosus, Trientalis borealis, Carex leptalea, Calamagrostis canadensis. Wetland impacted by past beaver flooding (old dam ~250 yards to the southeast); was likely a rich conifer (cedar) swamp here in the past.
