Locality: United States, Minnesota, Cook, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Gently-rolling bedrock terrain south of Meeds Lake, 21 miles north-northwest of Grand Marais. T64N R2W W1/2 of NW1/4 of NW1/4 Sec. 24

Elevation: 575 meters Verbatim Elevation: 1885ft

Habitat: Common in alder swamp along a small drainage north of Allen Lake. Shaded below fairly dense Alnus incana, and scattered Thuja occidentalis, Abies balsamea, Picea mariana, and Betula cordifolia. On Sphagnum hummocks. Forming patches.

Associated Taxa: Associates include Viola incognita, Epilobium palustre, Dryopteris carthusiana, Rubus pubescens, R. strigosus, Trientalis borealis, Carex leptalea, Calamagrostis canadensis. Wetland impacted by past beaver flooding (old dam ~250 yards to the southeast); was likely a rich conifer (cedar) swamp here in the past.
