Habitat:
Frequent in shallow water along the shores of Gaskin Lake. Forming loose patches in fine sand amongst scattered rocks, and in thin silty detritus over fine sand to clayey sand. Gently-sloping substrate. Water depth mostly <36 inches.

Associates include Juncus pelocarpus, Eleocharis palustris, Equisetum fluviatile, Utricularia resupinata, Eriocaulon aquaticum, Lobelia dortmanna, Chara sp.
