Habitat: Locally abundant in poor sedge fen surrounding a small (2-acre) bog pond north of Squash Lake, east of Turnip Lake. Dense patches; forming the dominant cover ~2-25 yards from the edge of the pond. Slightly quaky saturated peat. Continuous Sphagnum carpets. Full sun to partial shade of widely scattered and stunted Picea mariana and Larix laricina.
Associated Species: Additional associates include Myrica gale, Vaccinium oxycoccus, Kalmia polifolia, Andromeda glaucophylla, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Carex pauciflora, Scheuchzeria palustris, Sarracenia purpurea.
