Habitat: In mixed boreal and deciduous forest - mostly coniferous.
Substrate: Growing mychorrhizally
Associated Species: Populus, conifer, quercus, pinus, etc. nearby
Description: ECOLOGY: Found near edge of trail among pines. Small cluster of individuals. mixed woods (conifer dominated). CAP: 20-60mm width. Light yellow with scales that are dark near margin. KOH jet black on cap. Slightly off-center connection on some to cap. PORES: Originally yellow becoming dark brown. Angular/large. STEM: Curled at base. Bruising dark (originally yellow). 40mm length x 4mm width. SPORE PRINT: None able to be taken.
