Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake, Fall Lake Township, Hubachek Wilderness Research Center - In grass on trail in area dominated by conifer near Browns Lake shoreline.

Habitat: In mixed boreal and deciduous forest - mostly coniferous.
Substrate: Mycorrhizal, growing in mixed coniferous-dominant forest with Oaks, aspen/poplar and other deciduous trees present
Associated Species: Nearby conifers present, but hard to tell becuase specimen was in grass
Description: ECOLOGY: Growing alone in grass on trail with conifers on either side. In mixed coniferous-dominant woods adjacent to Boundary Waters Canoe Area. CAP: White. Smooth. Flat. 60mm width. KOH yellow on cap. STEM: White. Ring present. 45mm length. 7mm width. Large sac-like volva. Flesh white. Stuffed. GILLS: Barely free from stem. White. Close. SPORE PRINT: White. NOTE: Amanita decipiens sensu Lamoureux
