Habitat: Growing 30 cm above pool on Pleurozium schreberi moss hummock under Picea mariana, Thuja occidentalis, and Abies balsamea in a northern cedar swamp. Associates include Rhododendron groenlandicum, Rubus pubescens, Coptis trifolia, Gaultheria hispidula, Galium labradoricum, Mitella nuda, Cornus canadensis, Linnaea borealis, Carex leptalea, and Rhytidiadelphus triquetrus and Sphagnum magellanicum mosses.
