Habitat:
Occurring on an old railroad grade that parallels the Black Duck River. Specifically growing on the trail's crown on gravelly substrate. Partial shade cast by young Fraxinus nigra on uphill side to the east. Species associates include Agrimonia striata, Phleum pratense, Rubus idaeus subsp. strigosus, Lycopus uniflorus, Scirpus atrovirens, and Alnus incana subsp. rugosa.
