Locality: United States, Minnesota, Koochiching, Access on Haney Road (UT-160). Specimen is 125 m southeast of Haney Road. Orr is 32 km to the southeast.

Habitat: Growing on mucky peat substrate in a shaded, wet swale within a Thuja occidentalis swamp. Species associates include Coptis trifolia, Cornus canadensis, seedlings of Abies balsamea and Fraxinus nigra, Scutellaria lateriflora, Stellaria longifolia, Rhododendron groenlandicum, Lycopus uniflorus, and Sphagnum species.
Description: Entire fern clump measured 120 cm in diameter and 80 cm tall. Root crown elevated above standing water 2 cm deep. Collected part of an expanding leaf with sporangia.
