Habitat: Growing under full sun exposure in a recent clearcut of northern mesic hardwood forest. Populus tremuloides regeneration 2 m tall and ground cover dense with Rubus idaeus subsp. strigosus. Species associates include Carex intumescens, C. brunnescens, C. leptonervia, Vicia americana, Diervilla lonicera, and Osmorhiza claytonii.
Description: Hairs on upper stem and calyx of two types: long, non-glandular and short glandular. Hairs on stem angles and faces spreading.
