Locality: United States, Minnesota, Koochiching, Access from the east on County Road 150 and Forest Road 81 (UT-42). Specimen is 100 m northeast of FR-81. Mizpah is the nearest town 9 km to the southeast.

Elevation: 405 meters (1328ft)
Habitat: Growing in a wet-mesic hardwood forest dominated by Tilia americana, Populus tremuloides, and Betula papyrifera. Shrub layer is comprised of Corylus cornuta and Viburnum rafinesquianum. Species associates include Uvularia grandiflora, Athyrium filix-femina var. angustum, Asarum canadense, Thalictrum dioicum, Carex pedunculata, and C. pensylvanica. Soil is moderately well drained, highly compacted, and lower horizons have high clay content.
