Locality: United States, Minnesota, Koochiching, Access by boat by launching from Black Bay Narrows at the Voyageurs National Park Rainy Lake visitor center off of CR-96. Specimen is located at the southeastern end of Rainy Lake's Black Bay. Ray is the nearest town 16.7 km to the southwest.

Elevation: 339 meters (1112ft)
Habitat: Occurring on well-drained clay soil of a Quercus macrocarpa - Acer rubrum - Betula papyrifera northern wet-mesic hardwood forest. Shrub cover is dominated by Corylus americana and Viburnum rafinesquianum. Species associates include Parthenocissus vitacea, Brachyelytrum aristosum, Circaea lutetiana var. canadensis, and Eurybia macrophylla.
Description: Yellow corolla.
