Habitat:
Occurring on a low-sloping, wet Fraxinus nigra swamp among dense regeneration of five-meter tall Populus tremuloides. Other overstory species include Abies balsamea and Ulmus americana. Species associates include Solidago gigantea, Matteuccia struthiopteris, Cirsium arvense, Parthenocissus vitacea, Asarum canadense, and Equisetum arvense.
