Habitat: Plant observed in dry prairie/barrens. Growing in sandy soil of Glacial Lake Agassiz dune. Area dominated by Andropogon gerardii, Schizachyrium scoparium, Hesperostipa spartea, Salix humilis, Prunus pumila.
Associated Species: Associates include: Drymocallis arguta, Fragaria virginiana, Antennaria sp., Pedicularis canadensis, Astragalus sp., Populus tremuloides.
