Habitat: Dominant species in open seepage zone and in stream within mesic hardwood forest dominated by Acer saccharum, Tilia americana, Quercus rubra. Subcanopy with Ostrya virginiana, Carpinus caroliniana, Ulmus sp., and Prunus.
Associated Species: Associated species include: Caltha palustris, Impatiens capensis.
