Plants were observed on dry hill prairie/gravel prairie dominated by sedges and grasses. On north- to northwest-facing slope.
Associates include: Anemone patens, Astragalus crassicarpus, Pediomelum esculentum, Heuchera richardsonis, Pedicularis canadensis, Amorpha canescens, Lithospermum canescens.
