Habitat: Birch, red maple, balsam fir canopy with occasional aspen. Cut stumps of white pine or red pine. Heavy impact of deer. Spruce budworm evidence on all Abies. Boulders/bedrock close to surface. Active logging to east.
Associated Species: Common Associates: Maianthemum canadense, Diervilla lonicera, Acer rubrum, and Oryzopsis asperifolia.
Description: Lvs hispidulous; not reniform.
