Elevation: 362 meters (1187ft)
Habitat: Common and evenly dispersed in a poor conifer swamp. Canopy is sparse to patchy and dominated by somewhat stunted Larix laricina and Picea mariana. Full sun to partial shade. Patchy to dense low shrub layer dominated by Rhododendron groenlandicum, Kalmia polifolia, and Chamaedaphne calyculata. Sphagnum moss cover is continuous.
Substrate: Deep, saturated peat.
Associated Species: Additional species include Maianthemum trifolium, Vaccinium oxycoccos, Andromeda polifolia, and Carex lasiocarpa.
