Habitat: Common in small bur oak stand on the north shore of Upper Red Lake. Occasional Fraxinus nigra and Populus tremuloides in canopy. Heavy shrub layer of Corylus cornuta. .
Associated Species: Other associates include Uvularia grandiflora, Ribes cynosbati, Maianthemum stellatum, Celastrus scandens, Symphyotrichum ciliatum, Phryma leptostachya, Allium cernuum, Aquilegia canadensis
