Mesic hardwood forest on the north side of Ponemah Point (between upper and lower Red lake), which creates a microclimate for rich, outlier species. Forest is dominated by Acer saccharum and Tilia americana with occasional Thuja occidentalis, Ulmus americana and Fraxinus nigra. Open understory and deep shade.
Associates include Caulophyllum thalictroides, Elymus hystrix, Maianthemum racemosa.
