Habitat: Large patch growing in ~10x10m area on the margin of small shrub dominated fen opening. Shallow peat in transition zone with sandy substrate below.Adjacent to red pine plantation and growing in part shade.
Associated Species: Associates include Rubus uniformis, Carex scoparia, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Rhododendron groenlandicum, Salix petiolaris, Calamagrostis canadensis, Persicaria amphibia, Carex stricta, Populus tremuloides.
