Habitat: Occasional along edge of small fen opening. Adjacent to red pine plantation.
Associated Species: Growing in transition zone in shallow peat over sand with Rubus wheeleri and R. uniformis, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Rhododendron groenlandicum, Salix petiolaris, Calamagrostis canadensis, Persicaria amphibia, Carex stricta, Populus tremuloides.
