Habitat: Growing occasionally in alder swamp on the east side of Clearwater river. Dense cover of Alnus incana.
Substrate: Soils are mucky peat with a significant amount of wood.
Associated Species: Associates include Laportea canadensis, Pilea pumila, Urtica dioica, Galium asprellum, Cornus sericea, Carex stricta, Carex stipata, Stellaria longifolia.
