Habitat: Small population growing at the base of a large Fraxinus nigra at the edge of a small ephemeral pool in sugar maple/basswood mesic forest. Pool has shallow standing water. Plants growing in Plagiomnium moss that is on the tree trunk.
Associated Species: Other associates include Maianthemum canadense, Dryopteris carthusiana, Carex deweyana, Parthenocissus vitacea, Carex pedunculata - all on dry hummock.
