Locality: United States, Minnesota, Beltrami, Island in the middle of Puposky Lake; 1.8 miles west-northwest of Puposky.

Habitat: A single large, old tree in canopy along with a few smaller ones (DBHs average ~10 cm) scattered in narrow zone of black ash. The older tree is the only one with catkins. Water filled hollows, but tree is growing on a large hummock. Carex lacustris dominates hollows.
Associated Species: Other associates include Carex intumescens, Galium triflorum, Rubus idaeus, Rubus pubescens, Athyrium filix-femina.
