Habitat: Powerline right of way, full sun, rocky outcrop, growing with scattered Juniperus virginiana, Quercus alba, Q. illicifolia. Also, Dennstaedtia punctilobula, Gaylussacia baccata, Schizachyrium scoparium, Juniperus communis, Danthonia spicata, Lespedeza capitata, Spiraea alba, Vaccinium pallidum, Rosa virginianum.
