Habitat: Growing on the southwest side of Great Northern Lake (ID 73008300), a shallow 200 acre hypereutrophic basin situated in the Hardwood Hills Subsection. Part of the Sauk River Chain of Lakes, locally referred to as the Horseshoe Chain. Found along southern side of island. Locally common. Submerged in 0.3 meters of water.
Substrate: Gravel substrate.
Associated Species: Associated with Heteranthera dubia, Stuckenia pectinata.
