Locality: United States, Minnesota, Stearns, 2.5 miles south of Richmond.

Habitat: Found growing in the southwest arm of Cedar Island Lake (ID 73013300), a 1,000 acre hypereutrophic basin situated in the Hardwood Hills Subsection. Part of the Sauk River Chain of Lakes, locally referred to as the Horseshoe Chain. The southwest arm is also known as Mud Lake. Sheltered bay. Water clarity in this arm is better than other parts of the basin. Locally common. Submerged in 0.8 meters of water.
Substrate: Sand-silt substrate.
Associated Species: Associated with Nymphaea odorata, Ceratophyllum demersum, Ranunculus aquatilis var. diffusus, Lemna trisulca, Spirodela polyrrhiza, Elodea canadensis.
