Habitat: Growing in the northeast portion of Big Birch Lake (ID 77008400), a 2,100 acre basin situated in the Hardwood Hills Subsection. Near a public water access. Locally abundant in 1 meter of water. Growing up to the water's surface and forming a mat with numerous leaves held above the waterline and a few individuals flowering above the water's surface. Exposed leaves appeared shorter, glossy, and more rigid than submersed leaves.
Substrate: Sand-silt substrate.
Associated Species: Associated with Ceratophyllum demersum, Lemna trisulca, Ranunculus aquatilis var. diffusus, Elodea canadensis, Nuphar variegata.
