Locality: United States, Minnesota, Winona, Whitewater State Park. Approx. 90 meters southwest (upslope) of parking lot for Trout Run trailhead; 0.2 miles southeast of MN Trunk 74; 3 miles south-southeast of Elba.

Habitat: Common on northeast facing slope in part shade. Scattered cobbles.
Associated Species: Canopy of Quercus rubra and Acer saccharum with Ostrya virginiana in the understory. Ground layer includes Carex communis, Asarum canadensis, Thalictrum dioicum, Adiantum pedatum, Trillium grandiflorum, Cicuta bulbifera, and Acer saccharum seedlings.
