Locality: United States, Minnesota, Winona, Whitewater State Park. Approx. 75 meters upslope from MN Trunk Hwy 74; 3.5 miles southwest of Elba.

Habitat: Occasional on west-facing shady slope near drainage valley.
Associated Species: Canopy dominated by Acer saccharum and Quercus rubra with heavy layer of Ostrya virginiana in the understory. Abundant Geranium maculatum, Athyrium filix-femina. Occasional Brachyelytrum erectum, Adiantum pedatum, Dryopteris carthusiana, Prunus serotina seedlings, Osmunda claytoniana, and patches of Carex pensylvanica common.
