Habitat: Common along valley bottom near spring in the valley east of Trout Run Creek. No shrub layer here.
Associated Species: Canopy dominated by Quercus alba, Juglans nigra, Tilia americana, Ulmus americana, Acer saccharum. Ground layer associates include Geranium maculatum, Carex woodii, Caulophyllum thalictroides, Enemion biternatum, Circaea lutetiana, Laportea canadensis, Impatiens capensis.
