Common on old ditch spoils road that bisects a raised Picea mariana bog. Other native wetland plants common. Open, sunny.
Soils are moist, sandy-gravelly.
Associates includes Agalinis tenuifolia (abundant), Juncus dudleyi, Poa pratensis, Equisetum hyemale.
