Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake of the Woods, 0.35 miles south of Young's Bay shoreline; 1 mile south-southwest of Young's Bay marina.

Habitat: Occasional in wet, cedar-dominated forest. Collection made in a wet mucky pool under opening in canopy. Larger forest has more Picea mariana, but here there is more Fraxinus nigra and Abies balsamea in the understory with Betula papyrifera common.
Associated Species: Other ground associates include Caltha palustris, Veronica americana, Symphyotrichum puniceum, Impatiens capensis, Viola sp., Maianthemum trifolia, Cinna latifolia, Cystopteris fragilis.
