Habitat: A few clumps growing on south-facing crest of steep slope in a small sandy exposed pit. Looks natural. Fairly open with dappled shade from dense Juniperus virginiana. Very dry. Above here is a rock outcrop cap.
Associated Species: Associates include Monarda fistulosa, Senecio paupercula, Physalis heterophylla, Carex blanda, Rhamnus cathartica, Campanula rotundifolia, Carex pennsylvanica.
