Habitat:
Fairly large patch (3 x 10 ft.) growing near crest of north facing slope in pine needle duff, in dappled sun. Additional plants scattered nearby. Canopy dominated by Pinus strobus, Tilia americana and Ostrya virginiana in the understory.
Associated Species:
Ground associates include Aralia nudicaulis, Solidago flexicaulis, Thalictrum dioicum, Mitella nuda, Sanguinaria canadense, Asarum canadense, Acer saccharum seedlings.
