Locality: United States, Minnesota, Roseau, Beltrami Island State Forest. 150 meters northwest of Tangnes Forest Rd; 3.9 miles south of MN Trunk Hwy 11; 11 miles southeast of Warroad.

Habitat: Small remnant Pinus banksiana-dominated woodland on a small, isolated sandy knoll. A few areas have exposed sand, somewhat reminescent of dune blowouts, where this was collected. Appears to have been logged around 1991.
Associated Species: Associated species include Melampyrum lineare, Maianthemum canadense, Soildago hispida, Pteridium aquilinum, Vaccinium angustifolium, Diervilla lonicera, Arctostaphylos uva-ursi, Cladina spp., Pyrola chlorantha.
