Locality: United States, Minnesota, Lake of the Woods, Oak Island, Northwest Angle. 0.37 miles east of western shoreline of island; 4 miles southeast of Young's Bay Marina.

Habitat: Collection made due to unusual appearance, exhibiting characteristics of a hybrid between V. angustifolium and V. myrtilloides. Specimen with unusually narrow leaves; abaxial surfaces hairy. Also taller than usual, with most plants between 2-4 ft. tall. Growing in part to mostly sunny area in small Picea mariana-dominated swamp near center of island; on Sphagnum angustifolium hummocks.
Associated Species: Associates include Rhododendron groenlandicum (abundant), Gaultheria hispidula, Abies balsamea, Maianthemum trifolium, Vaccinium myrtilloides (appears typical), Vaccinium oxycoccos.
