Habitat: Below 3/4 mile long, south-facing, diabase cliff...in moist, mossy depressions between diabase boulders along lower portion of talus slope below dry, 60 to 120-foot cliffs. In partial shade of surrounding forest trees, especially Betula papyrifera. Associates include Woodsia ilvensis, Ribes oxyacanthoides, Rubus strigosus.
