Tree, 15m in height, dbh: 44.5. leaves dark green on top, light green underneath, prominent white central vein. fruit yellow, about 1.4cm in diameter. Flowers white and yellow: inflorescence appears yellow from afar. The wood is said by local people to be hard and black in color.
Individuals of the native fruit bat Seychelles yellow-headed flying fox Pteropus seychellensis comorensis were seen landing on this tree on 12 July, 2001. Individuals of the endemic fruit bat Livingstone's flying fox Pteropus livingstonii were seen landing on another of the same species on 2 August, 2001.
