United States, Minnesota, Lake of the Woods, Pine and Curry Island Scientific and Natural Area. Approx. 5 meters from shoreline on southwest tip of island; 12 miles northwest of Baudette.

Common on sandy beaches of narrow island largely dominated by small to medium sized dunes.
Associates include Salix interior, Phragmites australis, Euthamia gramineus, Populus deltoides (saplings), Solidago gigantea, Cyperus schweinitzii, Juncus effusus, Artemisia campestris.
