Locality: United States, Minnesota, Koochiching, Pine Island State Forest. 0.58 miles west of Pine Island Forest Road; 8 miles northeast of Waskish.

Habitat: Part of a larger mosaic of drier cedar, black ash swamp and open wet meadow that is surrounded by a larger peatland complex. Collection made at relevé plot in drier cedar area.
Substrate: Soil is moist organic muck.
Notes: Canopy dominated by Thuja occidentalis and Fraxinus nigra. Occasional Acer spicatum in the understory. Ground layer associates include Abies balsamea, Coptis trifolia, Aralia nudicaulis, Rubus pubescens, Impatiens capensis, Equisetum sylvaticum, Mitella nuda and Carex pedunculata.
