Locality: United States, Minnesota, Beltrami, Red Lake Wildlife Mgmt. Area. Approx. 20 meters north of North Shore Drive on Upper Red Lake; 11 miles northeast of Waskish.

Habitat: Common in narrow band of rich mesic woodlands dominated by Quercus macrocarpa on north shore of Upper Red Lake. Quickly transitions to peatland communities to the north.
Notes: Dense Corylus cornuta and Acer spicatum in the understory. Other associates include Actaea rubra, Uvularia grandiflora, Trientalis borealis, Amelanchier spp., Osmorhiza claytonii, Aralia nudicaulis, Hydrophyllum virginiana.
